May 23- Students should return between 3:30-4:00. We will send Parent Square updates via text on arrival times.

Students should bring peanut free snacks for the bus. They should have snacks for the way up and the way back. Please use a one gallon ziplock bag only and put a name on it. We will store the snacks and pass them back out on the ride home. 

To be honest, there were not many things that were made during our COVID time at school, however our annual 5th Grade Promotion Parade is perhaps the best. Each year, our 5th grade students and families slowly roll past JRB for 'one last time' as we salute each individual. This year should be a blast with the unbelievable 5th grade that we have. We encourage families to view some of the prior parade pictures to see just how much fun this afternoon can be! This year's parade will commence at 4:30 on Wednesday, June 11th. More information will be available as we get closer to the date.

5th Grade Outdoor Classroom.

Please ensure you send all medications in the original Pharmacy bottle/packaging with the pharmacy label on it. Place the bottle/package in a clear ziploc bag with your student's name, birthdate, and school written on it.

I will be at school prior to arrival time for Outdoor Classroom students, to collect medications on Monday morning. Please do not send any medications packed in your students personal belongings/bags. Thank you to all the friends and family members who helped get these students prepared for a fun and awesome experience!

Oh the Pollen!

I think it's safe to say that seasonal allergies are affecting most of us currently. If your student takes allergy medication, please remember to medicate them prior to school. The nurses office does not provide nor administer allergy medications to students unless we have a signed consent, doctors orders, and are provided with the allergy medication. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions and/or concerns!

Our school-wide Memorial Day Assembly is scheduled for the morning of Friday, May 23rd. Each child in grades 1-4 has received a copy of their grade’s song lyrics to practice at home between music class rotations. Grades 3 & 4 can also access their song lyrics and recordings on their Music Google Classrooms. Kindergarten students have been practicing their song since January, so they are ready to go!

We traditionally have each grade level wear a color to represent the American flag. This is strictly optional! If your child does not have their grade’s color, that’s fine! They can wear anything that they normally wear to school. 

Our JRB Chorus members will be singing the National Anthem and may also wear regular school attire and/or their grade’s color, rather than concert attire. The colors are as follows:

PreK/K: WHITE

1st/2nd: RED

3rd/4th: BLUE

5th grade readers: Red, White & Blue

AWCM will be there to film the assembly, so that families may watch it at a later time. 

We are having our annual Recital Night on Monday, June 9th, at 6:30pm. Any JRB student who takes instrumental or voice lessons, either here at JRB or elsewhere, is welcome to participate! Please click HERE for the form, or have your student see Mr. or Mrs. Lordan for a copy. FORMS ARE DUE TO MRS. The specialist team, Mr. Berg, Mrs. DiSalle, Mrs. Lordan, and Mrs. Stone, will be designing t-shirts for field day with all students this year. To that end, we are requesting that all students bring in a WHITE t-shirt to decorate by 
Friday, May 16th. 

Please LABEL your child's t-shirt with their NAME, GRADE, and CLASS, and deliver the t-shirt to their classroom teacher.

We have concluded our final writing challenge and have enjoyed reading all of our student's creative comic strips! 102 pieces were submitted! For every writing piece submitted, participant's earned a raffle ticket for various art supplies and comic creating materials. All of our winners were selected today, so....CONGRATULATIONS:

As we wrap up the year, we want to share that it has been a wonderful experience sharing our time with JRB's readers! While today was the last day for students to pull books to borrow, we will still have our small team of parent volunteers here through 6/6. Please keep looking for any books that need to be returned.
